Kavina LaDean is a poet, mystic, and sensual alchemist of the soul. Velvet Altar: Erotic Prayers and Sacred Surrender is her debut book—a devotion of flesh and fire, crafted as both confession and consecration. Kavina writes from the marrow of lived experience. She is a survivor of domestic violence and the profound loss of her daughter to suicide in 2018. Her path has led her through the deepest caverns of grief, identity, trauma, recovery, and love—and back again. Through this journey, she has become a fierce believer in the power of transformation.
